| Anaphylactic shock | A rare allergic reaction, causing swelling, skin rash and other symptoms. Severe swelling of the air passage will probably lead to brain damage or death |

| Chain Screen | A series of vertically draped chained links made of aluminium, forming a barrier to flying insects |

| Circline Lamp | A uv lamp that is formed into a circle |
| Diarrhea | Passing of excessively watery or loose faeces |

| PTFE Insulator | Device that holds the electrical grid in place in fly killers and ensure the bars are spaced correctly. This helps prevent insect explosions on contact |
| Safety Switch | Forces the electric supply to turn off when the electric fly killer cover is removed |

| Synergetic | Working together. In the case of electric fly killers, this where the uv light and green light work together to attract insects |
| Typhoid Fever | Infection that causes multiple symptoms, including diarrhea, headache and weakness |
